WE BELIEVE IN SERVICE & QUALITY ABOVE ALL

Bill Lane, Owner
Thirty-five years ago my Glazing career began with a fascination with seeing how glass and mirror is cut and applied to different applications. I was working for a Glass Company in Florida as a fleet mechanic for their trucks and accessories. Watching the men at the cut table work their magic with glass fascinated me so much that I approached the owner and asked him if I could learn to work with glass and its related products as long as it did not interfere with my real job. He agreed and placed me under the care and training of a retired Journeyman Glazier who came in 3 days a week. He was 75 years old and had been in the trade for 60 years. He took me under his wing like a son and taught me much more than I had ever expected. He said one day; “I’m going to show you things that few in the trade know, secrets that had been in his family for years.” And oh how I learned!

To make a long story short, six months into my learning of the glazing trade they hired someone else to be their fleet mechanic and promoted me to #1 Table Man. What that meant was that I not only became lead man over others in the cutting department, but that all projects that came through our department were my responsibility to get done in a timely fashion with little or no waste of material. It was nothing for our department to optimize and cut 150 stock sheets of glass to cut sheet sizes and stack in the truck for delivery to the jobsite every day. Thus began my career in the Glass Business, working for several companies back East that scouted me out for my skills.

Our move to Wenatchee was my last career move. In 1995 we started “The Glass Works”. We have been in business in this valley for over 15 years now and have assembled a team of specialist that surpass none. We are very proud of how the business has grown, especially by referral from other satisfied customers. We thank God for all that He has done in helping us to grow this business into what it is today. For more information about our company see our history bio. Thank you for visiting our website and look forward to working with you on your next project whether small or large!
